It’s that time of year again! The temperature is slowly creeping down, the leaves are changing, and before you know it, out come the hoodies, and weekends will be filled with bonfires. If you’re ready to prep your outdoor space to throw the best bonfires this year, keep reading to learn some helpful tips on preparing for bonfire season.

Get Rid of Junk
Junk accumulates. It’s a fact of life. Getting rid of the junk that has accumulated in and around where you’re going to have your bonfire will help spruce things up and make your bonfire space more inviting.
Remove Fire Hazards
One of the most important factors of bonfire season is fire safety.
Keeping the undergrowth short and moist can help keep the fire where it needs to be.
Make sure you have sufficient vertical clearance from any branches or other vegetation above your fire pit.
Maintain at least a 10-foot parameter from all structures.
Clearing up the undergrowth and other fire hazards in or around your fire pit will ensure that you are putting safety first.
Decorate Your Space
If you have a space that you regularly use for bonfires, give it an upgrade this year! Adding gravel, bricks, or stones can not only make your bonfire space feel cozier, but it also provides a more level surface for seating, and it provides an extra level of fire safety by adding a layer of non-flammable material around your fire pit to protect against stray embers that may make their way out of the fire.
